Yonamine

London: 06/08/18 — 30/09/18

Yonamine (Angola) in his work reinvents and updates past or present archaeologies about life, building a process of accumulation in an almost surrealistic way, working over a random and exhaustive fragmentation that reflects our contemporary fragmented identities.

Last year Yonamine participated in the 4th Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Arts, in Ekaterinburg, Russia, curated by João Ribas and the 15th Istanbul Biennial in Istanbul, Turkey, curated by Elmgret & Dragnet.

Yonamine’s work is present in several important institutional and private collections such as: Banco Internacional de Crédito (BIC) (Lisbon, Portugal); Banco Privado de Angola; Centre Pompidou (Paris, France); Ellipse Foundation Contemporary Art Collection (Alcoitão, Portugal); Leal Rios Foundation (Lisbon, Portugal); Norlinda e José Lima Collection (São João da Madeira, Portugal); PLMJ Foundation (Lisbon, Portugal); Sindika Dokolo African Contemporary Art (Luanda, Angola); The Frank-Suss Collection (London, UK).
