Shamma Al Amri (UAE) explores in her work different medias, often combining her fine art experience with digital technology. Her distinct photography style using a pinhole camera and traditional film has gained wide acclaim, and has been published in the Burj Khalifa Documentary Opus.

Shamma has exhibited in numerous shows both locally and internationally, and recently exhibited in the Shanghai Expo 2010.

Born in the UAE in 1985, Shamma Al Amri received her Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Design at the Lateefa College campus of Zayed University.

Shamma is currently completing her Masters degree in Culture and Creative Industries, and is the co-founder of The Nomads Box Project that launched its first moving art space, nbx2010, in Art Dubai 2010. Nbx2010 is a transformed shipping container that tours the city as a platform to showcase local art in the public realm. She is also part of the Five Art Beats Collective.
