Mariam Elnozahy (Egypt/USA) is a curator, archivist, and cultural manager based in Cairo at the Townhouse Gallery. She focuses primarily on critical, community-based work and seeks to promote Egyptian contemporary artistic practices.

In 2017, Mariam ran the Rewriting Criticism programme, a year long writing-intensive school which aimed to widen the scope of art criticism in a field under strenuous socio-political circumstances. She is also the founder of the Open Index Archive, an open-source platform for contemporary art documentation in Egypt.

While in residence at Delfina Foundation, Mariam will be curating an exhibition and programme series at the Mosaic Rooms entitled What Do You Mean, Here We Are?, and will conduct independent research on comparative curatorial approaches to art from the MENA region.

Mariam graduated with honors from Barnard College of Columbia University with a degree in history.
