Daisuke Miyatsu

Daisuke Miyatsu (Japan) has amassed an impressive collection of contemporary artworks, accumulated as a simple company employee ("salaryman"). His home was designed with the contribution of various artists, including Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster and Yayoi Kusama, which has been covered extensively by the Japanese and international press.

Iterations of collection has been exhibited in Tokyo Opera City's Art Gallery (Japan), the Daelim Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul (South Korea), the Taipei Museum of Contemporary Art (Taiwan), and the BEXCO convention center, Busan (South Korea).

Miyatsu is the author of several books in Japanese including Let's Buy Contemporary Art (published as part of the Shinsho de Shûeisha collection - also available in traditional Chinese, Taiwanese, and Korean languages); The Age of Art x Technology - Revolutionary changes in a society brought about by the creative business; and Contemporary Art Economics, most recently published by Kobunsha.

While maintaining his day job, Miyatsu is Professor at Yokohama College of Art and Design and Visiting Professor at Kyoto University of Art and Design.
