Ayesha Matthan has a Bachelors in English Literature from St. Stephen's College, Delhi and a degree in Journalism from the Asian College of Journalism, Chennai. She subsequently was a journalist with The Hindu, Bangalore covering art and culture.
Ayesha returned to New Delhi to obtain a Masters in Arts and Aesthetics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, followed by an MPhil degree. She is interested in issues of gender and artistic production in colonial India. Currently Ayesha is assisting on an upcoming exhibition on early photography in the Indian sub-continent with the Alkazi Foundation for the Arts, New Delhi.
Ayesha is a PhD candidate in Visual Studies at the School of Arts and Aesthetics, JNU and is currently assisting on an upcoming exhibitionon early photography in the Indian sub-continent with the Alkazi Foundation for the Arts, New Delhi.
She is based in New Delhi, India.
